The Resource Alliance is delighted to announce that fundraisers worldwide are now eligible to apply to The Future Leaders Programme for Fundraisers!

Dear Oh-Deuk,

The Future Leaders Programme for Fundraisers explores the demands of leadership and the skills required to lead effectively with special sensitivity to the needs of our sector.

Stage one
You will begin in April 2013 with a 360-degree feedback survey. Then you’ll work with a qualified Executive Coach to discover your ability to be an effective leader.

Stage two
In September 2013 you will participate in an intensive five-day residential course at Wolfson College, Oxford University. Studying with some of the best names in the field of leadership education, you will have daily opportunities for confronting your own challenges with people of note and reputation in the world of NGOs, who will bring you to a new level of knowledge and capability.

Stage three
In September 2013 you’ll also develop a Personal Action Plan for taking your leadership capability to the next level.

Stage four
From October 2013 to September 2014 you will work with a specially selected mentor who will guide you towards successfully fulfilling your plan.

Stage five
Throughout the programme you will have access to an exclusive peer learning e-platform. Participants attending the International Fundraising Congress (IFC) in October 2013 will also be invited to participate in a peer learning Workshop.

  • You’ll gain fresh insights and perspectives on similar challenges faced by other programme participants – as well as a network of private sector mentors
  • You’ll be able to benchmark yourself and your organisation against best practice as represented by your peer group from other NGOs on the programme.

If you are a Senior Executive or CEO of an NGO, you should consider this programme for your key fundraising staff because:

  • It will provide your key staff with a clear understanding of what does and doesn’t work when running an organisation
  • It will provide a disciplined, objective and visible basis for succession planning
  • You’ll achieve greater organisational performance
  • Your mid-level managers will become fast-tracked to assume more strategic roles
  • You will achieve better retention and development of talent within your organisation
  • The programme will deliver managers with greater self-awareness and understanding of critical organisational processes
  • Senior-level directors and CEOs can trust their reports with greater responsibility, resulting in increased organisational capacity to deliver against objectives
