Welcome to the Resource Alliance eNewsletter one year after launch

Dear Oh-Deuk

It's been one year since we relaunched our eNewsletter. We hope over this period you've enjoyed reading about the work we've been doing around the world and finding out about our new projects.

In 12 months we've seen a lot of exciting developments. We've launched the Future Leaders Programme for Fundraisers, reviewed the courses we offer through the School of Fundraising and organised several awards programmes, including the Global Award
s 2012 and  NGO Awards. Plus, we've continued to develop our successful international events the International Fundraising Congress (IFC), Fundraising online and the International Workshop on Resource Mobilisation (lWRM) in Asia and Africa.

New Impact casebook

Since our formation in 1981, we've made an impact on the sector globally by inspiring philanthropy and successfully helping many
non-profit organisations in both developed and developing economies to increase their fundraising capabilities and long-term financial sustainability.

In October we published
Impact: Our Footprints 2012 - a collection
of case studies of our work over the past three years.

Akwasi Aidoo, Chair of the Resource Alliance board introducing guests to the Global Awards for Fundraising 2012.
The Resource Alliance is growing! Would you like to grow with us as a Resource Alliance Associate?

Our comprehensive and customised Tailored Capacity Development services equip NGOs around the world with the strategy, skills, knowledge and capacity to mobilise resources. These interventions are led by Resource Alliance Associates – practitioners with extensive knowledge of local fundraising constraints and opportunities.

Due to an increasing demand for these services, and in light of a new campaign we are launching in 2013, we're expanding our global network of Associates. Being a Resource Alliance Associate will provide you with the opportunity to work on capacity development projects that aim to develop stronger and more sustainable NGOs in the developing world. In addition, you'll have opportunities to further develop your expertise through support, peer learning and development platforms.

Visit our website to find out more about this opportunity!

The School of Fundraising Survey

We're currently trying to improve your courses to meet the needs of the sector in your country, and we need your help!

In some areas of the world there is a significant shortage of professionally trained and experienced fundraisers. We're committed to ensuring that fundraising continues to grow in these places, both in terms of professionalism and capacity. We're determined that the courses we offer help to achieve this.

We need your input; as you are the experts on the sector in your country. Please take our survey and help guide our future work. You'll also be in with the chance
of winning some great prizes.

The IWRM Africa 2012

The International Workshop on Resource Mobilisation (IWRM) Africa took place for the third consecutive year in Kampala, Uganda on 27-30 November, welcoming participants from over 20 countries in Africa and beyond.

This year, for the first time the IWRM offered a Foundational Class to address the needs of programme staff who find themselves responsible for fundraising within their organisations. In addition to this, Masterclasses, Big Room sessions and Workshops focused on tools and techniques to capitalise on the opportunities for resource mobilisation in the African context.

As well as gaining new skills and knowledge from the local and international speakers, delegates were encouraged to share their own experiences and learn from each other. Indeed, the breaks and social events are as much an integral part of the IWRM as the formal sessions.
