물고기인생

우리 집 작은 수족관에 열대어들이 조용히 산다.
나는 매일 통유리 속의 작은 세계를 들여다본다.
하늘 너머 어딘가에서, 하느님도 우리를,
이렇게 바라보시려나 ?

수족관 안에서 삶의 생동감을 본다.
물고기들이 물살을 가르며 춤추고,
빛을 따라 노래하고,
몸짓으로 서로의 숨결을 느낀다.

때로는 물고기 눈을 들여다보며 내 인생을 보곤 한다.
물고기의 작은 눈동자에 담긴 세상에는
우리가 미처 보지 못한 이야기들이 있다.
알을 낳고, 성장하고, 다른 종과 싸우기도 하고,
죽음에 이르는 삶이 있다. 지혜 사랑 우정 슬픔과 고통이 있다.

인간의 발육도, 태초의 시작도, 물고기와 다르지 않으리라.
단지, 인간은 스스로 고등생물이라 칭하고,
물고기를 하등생물로 기준 삼을 뿐이다.

좁은 수족관 속에 갇혀서도 앞만 보고 헤엄치는 물고기의 삶은
앞만 보고 나아가는 사람의 인생과 같다.
우리는 서로 다른 듯 닮았다.
작은 물방울 속에도, 무한한 우주가 펼쳐져 있음을 깨닫는다.

‘ Fish Life ‘

Tropical fish live quietly in our small aquarium.
I look into this tiny world inside the glass wall everyday.
Somewhere beyond the sky,
Does God look at us like this ?

See the liveliness of life in an aquarium.
The fish dance through the current.
Singing along with the light.
Feeling each other’s breath through gestures.

Sometimes I look into fish eyes and see my whole life.
In the world of little fish eyes, there are stories we haven’t seen.
In a life of laying eggs, growing, fighting other species, and dying.
There is wisdom, love, friendship, sadness.

Humankind’s development,
At the very beginning of beginnings,
is no different from that of fish.
It’s just that humans call themselves higher life,
taking fish as a low organisms forms of life.

The life of a fish that swims forward,
even though confined to a narrow aquarium.
Is like the life of a person who moves forward.

We look like each other.
I realize that there is an infinite universe,
even within a small drop of water.
