따오기

저멀리서
목을 쭉 뻗고 날아와서 있기에
오, 따오기인가 반가웠네!
개구리 찾아 왔는가?

서서히
산그림자 발목을 적시는데도
따오기 닮은 녀석은
논두렁에서 꿈쩍도 않고 있다

울 어머니 아버지 가신 나라
해 돋는 나라
추억 속에 살아있는 따오기
더욱 그리워지는 오늘

' Ibis ‘

Flying from afar, stretching its neck,
A very welcome ibis !
Have you come looking for frogs ?

Slowly overshadowed by the mountain,
it’s ankle reflected clearly,
The ibis-like figure remains still,
Standing on the ridge between rice paddies.

A land where my mother and father went~ The Land of the Rising Sun.
The ibis lives within my memories,
And today, I long for the ibis more than ever.
