It was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea.

아주 옛날 옛날, 어느 바닷가 왕국에서,,

That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee:

당신이 알지도 모르는 처녀가 살았어요.
아너벨 리 라는 이름을 가졌죠.

And this maiden she lived with no other thought,
Than to love and be loved by me.

이 처녀는 사랑하고, 사랑받는 것 말고는
아무것도 생각하지 않고 살았어요.

She was a child and I was a child, in this kingdom by the sea.
But we loved with a love that was more than love,

I and my Annabel Lee,
With a love that the winged seraphs of Heaven,
coveted her and me.

그녀와 나는 어린애였죠. 어느 바닷가 왕국에서
나와 나의 아나벨리는 사랑보다 더한 사랑을 했었죠.
사랑 때문에 하늘나라의 날개달린 천사가 그녀와 나를 시기했어요.

And this was the reason that, long ago, in this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, by night, chilling my Annabel Lee;

So that her highborn kinsmen came,
And bore her away from me.
To shut her up in a sepulcher,
in this kingdom by the sea,

이유는 그것뿐이었어요.
오랜 옛날에 어느 바닷가 왕국에서
밤새도록 구름에서 바람이 불어와
나의 아나벨리를 싸늘하게 했어요.

그런 후 그녀의 고귀한 친족이 와서 나에게서
그녀를 멀리 떼어, 바닷가 감옥에 가두었죠.
어느 바닷가 왕국에서..,

The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
Went envying her and me;
Yes! that was the reason.
(as all men know, in this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud,
chilling, And killing my Annabel Lee;

하늘나라에서 우리 반만큼도 행복하지 못한 천사들이
그와 나를 시기했던 것입니다.
예! 이유는 그것뿐이죠.
(바닷가왕국의 모든 사람이 알고 있듯이)

밤새도록 구름에서 바람이 불어와
나의 아너벨리는 싸늘하게 숨졌습니다.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we,
Of many far wiser than we.

And neither the angels in Heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul,
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

그러나 우리 사랑은 훨씬 강했습니다.
우리보다 나이 많은 사람들의 사랑보다도
우리보다 위대한 사람들의 사랑보다도
하늘나라의 천사들도 바다밑 지옥의 마귀들도

나의 영혼과 아나벨리 의 영혼을 갈라
놓을 수 없을 겁니다.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams.
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes,
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side,
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride.

In her sepulcher there by the sea.
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

달이 비칠때에는
아름다운 아나벨 리의 꿈을 꿉니다.
별이 비칠 때마다 나는 아름다운 아나벨리의 눈동자를 생각합니다.

그러기에 나는 밤새도록 아나벨 리의 곁에 눕는 답니다.
