An update from Chief Executive of the Resource Alliance,
Neelam Makhijani

As a valued friend and supporter of the Resource Alliance,
and with keeping with my aim of regularly updating you on our happenings, I am writing to give you the latest news on our recurring conferences as well as some new and exciting initiatives currently in the works.

The past few months have been intense - real hard work yet fulfilling with a great sense of accomplishment and success.
It has been a mix of some really good moments, some not so great and a few challenges, as expected. Some of the achievements have raised the bar thus opening up ways to improve what we already do and some have offered new opportunities for the Resource Alliance to achieve its mission.

Through this personal mail I would like to give you a glimpse
of some of our activities from 2011 and upcoming projects for 2012 to 2013.

Chief Executive, the Resource Alliance

Our conferences

The International Fundraising Congress (IFC)
16-19 October 2012
The Netherlands

Last year, we had another successful IFC, with almost 1,000 participants, and a great programme with a substantial diversity of speakers and sessions. The IFC Advisory Panel worked hard to put together the programme and the conference was sold out in advance.

Click here to watch session videos from the IFC 2011.

I hope you are aware of the dates for this year’s IFC, which is 16-19 October 2012. The Panel, along with Paul Farthing as the Chair, have been working on the educational programme since last summer. You will have the opportunity to listen to your favourite speakers and have access to the best thinking in fundraising from around the world. Additionally, new for this year is 'new perspectives' sessions from outside the fundraising sector.

Don’t forget, if you register for the IFC 2012 by 10 May you can save £60 per delegate.

I hope to see you in Holland this October!

The Resource Alliance Global Awards for fundraising

Following the success of the inaugural Global Awards at the IFC in 2010, the 2011 awards saw the number of countries submitting entries, double. The range of winners was truly global, with Uganda, Germany, Ireland and Australia all picking up awards.

We are looking forward to an even greater number of countries participating in 2012. In order to facilitate this we have developed a ‘How-To-Guide’ to support national fundraising associations wishing to set up a national fundraising awards programme, which is available to download from our website.
