New faces at the Resource Alliance |
|
The last six months have seen a few staff changes in the Learning and Development team. Stephen Chacha started working with the Africa team in September, based in Tanzania, and Erika Moisl joined the London-based team as Learning and Development Manager in July. Welcome to you both! |

The Resource Alliance casebook |
|
In October 2011 we published ‘Impact - a casebook of building fundraising capacity and inspiring philanthropy worldwide’. The casebook showcases the work of the Resource Alliance with a number of case-studies to demonstrate just how we help build and strengthen the fundraising capacities of civil society organisations and inspire philanthropy worldwide. |

Tailored capacity development |
|
This year the Resource Alliance undertook an extensive range of tailored capacity development programmes to help non-profit organisations around the world, including Edukans Uganda, CARE India, Plan International, Plan Uganda, PACT in Vietnam, PACS in India and Habitat for Humanity in Brazil, to develop their fundraising capacity and long-term financial sustainability. Highlights include: |
|
EuropeAid |
This project aims to develop co-operation and facilitate exchange of experience among non-governmental development organisations (NGDOs), fundraisers, practitioners and national NGDO platforms in Central Europe in the field of raising private funds for development and humanitarian causes.
The picture above shows representatives from NGDOs gaining insight into fundraising experience for humanitarian and development causes at a Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) presentation on a fund finding visit to London in February 2011. |
|
Seafarer's Welfare Organisations, Brazil |
We developed a programme of fundraising training and coaching with staff from Seafarers’ Welfare Organisations from many parts of Brazil, to help them develop their own fundraising plans in the future. We will be supporting and helping them implement these plans in 2012. |

The Bellagio Initiative |
|
We are very proud to be working in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) on the Bellagio Initiative, a series of global consultations aimed at delivering a new framework for philanthropy and international development in pursuit of human wellbeing in the 21st century. |

Get involved in the Bellagio Initiative |
|
Do you have an on-the-ground example of new ideas in philanthropy and development in practice?
The Bellagio Initiative has a dedicated website where you can upload your paper, think piece, or comment to the Library of Submissions, helping to further the Bellagio debate. You can also submit your innovation as a 200-word summary to the growing library of case studies in the Bellagio Innovations Bank.
There will be more news of the Bellagio Initiative in our eNewsletter and website, in the coming months. |
