[스크랩] 고급영어 표현

1. 과거에 하려고 했던 말하고자    was going to
   Jessy was going to introduce Woody to Buzz.
   I'd bought this white dress and was going to wear it for the Dance Party.
 
2. 어디에 다녀왔을 때는 have been
   "What are you going to do on your trip to the Big Apple ? I myself have been to New York several times. Lots of things." Mom replied.
   "We are going to eat a breakfast at the Embassy coffee shop. Besides we'll lunch and dinner at fancier places. Anyway, after breakfast we're going to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Then we'ill take a bus across Central Park and go to the Museum of Natural History. Then we'll head downtown and go shopping."
 
3. "그게 무슨 말이야?"라고 물으려면 What does that mean?
   "Daddy, XYZ! Your fly is open!"
   "No, it isn't. By the way, what does XYZ mean?"
   "It means examine your zipper!' Get it? Examine Your Zipper? XYZ?"
 
4. 마치 년이 지나 버린것 같아요 It seemed as if
   It seemed as if years had passed since we were last together.
   우리가 함께 이후 마치 년이 지나 버린것 같아요.
   Actuslly it was only a few weeks.
   실제로는 정도지만요.
 
5. 만약 그런일이 벌어지면 어쩌지? What if
   What if the plane does crash?  만약 비행기가 추락하면 어쩌지?
   What if it doesn't?  만약그렇지 않다면?
   At least I'll be alive.  적어도 살아있겠지.
 
6. 뭔지 알아? Guess what
   Guess what I just heard on the news?
   방금 들은 뉴스가 뭔지 알아?
 
7. 그게 무슨 소리야? What do you mean
   What do you mean when you say 'yahoo!'?
   말할때 '야후!'라고 하는데 그게 무슨 소리야?
 
8. "나는 이거하면 안돼요?" 라고 요구할 때는 Can't I
   "Can't I go with you?"  같이가면 안돼요?
   "Sorry, honey. Let's see. we're meeting the Sombergs for lunch and four of us decided to try a new restaurant. In the afternoon, your dad and I plan to visit the Museum of Broadcasting and maybe walk around Lincoln Center. Then we're going to meet the Wileys for dinner, and after that we're going to see 'The Phantom of the Opera'. Then we'll come home."
 
9. '다했니?'라고 물을 때는   Have you
  Have you done yours? 거는 다했어?
  Most of it. 거의 .
 
10. '무엇하는 좋겠어'라고 때는  You better
  You better eat something before we leave. 
 
우리가 떠나기 전에 먹는 좋겠어.
 
11. '그러지 않는게 좋겠어' 라고 말하고 싶을 때는 I better not
   Hi, it's me. we're going to the mall. Want to come with us?
   안녕, 나야. 우린 지금  쇼핑몰에 갈려고 . 우리랑 같이 갈래?
   I do, but I better not. I'm sitting to the Perkinses. I promissed Kristy. She'd kill me if I skipped out to go to the mall instead.
