능력자?

능력자 ?

최근 "정부, 국회, 정당 등에서 능력 있는 사람이 필요하다. 정부가 무능하다. 일부 국민들은 정치가들이 머리가 비었다"라고 많이 얘기한다. 그래서 능력자는 어떠한 사람인가? 알아 보았다.

한글 사전에는 능력이란? 1). 일을 감당할 수 있는 힘 ( Ability) 2).정신이 일정한 작용을 할 수 있는 힘( Faculty ),

3) 자기의 권리를 능히 행사할 수 있는 자격으로 (Capacity )정의 하고 있다.

L. 굴드는 " 정신이 건전한 사람은 자기의 어떤 결점이나 부족한 점이 있다 하더라도 다른 능력을 발휘하여 그 부족한 점을 덮는 것을 찾는다.

마이너스를 풀러스로 전환시키는 점에 인생의 묘미가 있다. 맹인은 보지 못하는 대신에 귀로 판단하는 청각이 보통 이상으로 예민하다.

왼손이 오른손에 비하여 부자유한 것은, 오른 손만 쓰고 왼손을 사용하지 않았기 때문이다. 왼손도 자주 사용하면 유용하게 쓸 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있는 것이다. 스스로 못 쓴다고 판단해버리는 것이 나쁘다.

결론적으로 "지도력의 유일의 유효한 테스트는 그에 앞서는 능력, 즉 그것은 왕성한 기백을 갖고 선도하는 능력이다"라고 J.F. 케네디는 역설했다.

Competent person ?

Recently, "We need competent people in government, parliament, political parties, etc. The government is incompetent. Some people are saying that politicians have empty heads". So, what kind of person is a competent person? I found out.

What is ability in the Korean dictionary? 1). The power to do things ( Ability) 2).The power of the mind to perform certain actions ( Faculty ),
3) The qualification to exercise one's rights skillfully (Capacity ).

L. Gould said, "A man of sound mind, whatever defects or deficiencies he may have, finds a way to cover them by exercising other abilities.
The thrill of life is in turning a minus into a plus. A blind man may not be able to see, but his sense of hearing is more acute than normal.

There are jack-of-all-trades like Schweitzer. He had four doctorates in philosophy, medicine, theology, and music.
He was also a goldsmith, aesthetician, carpenter, architect, mechanic, apothecary, nurse, mason, veterinarian, shipbuilder, pumpmaker, gardener, and author by necessity.

In conclusion, J.F. Kennedy reminded us that "the only valid test of leadership is the ability to lead, and that is to lead with vigor".
